It is now 2010 and I still use this mug 5 days a week, it is still a great mug and I would still recommend it.
Any mug that lasts 6 years is a winner in my book.
Here is my original review from 6 years ago:
I ordered this mug because it has the 3 key elements I need.
#1 I work in a building with tight EHS and OSHA restrictions requiring all containers to have a closeable lid, which this mug does.
#2 I work while I'm drinking the morning coffee thus need something to keep it hot for a long time, which it does.
#3 And this is the most unique property of this fine mug, it is wide enough for me to clean it all the way to the bottom with my bare hand, without having to use a special tool. MAJOR PLUS.
There is only one complaint, the handle, while being big enough for 3 of my oversized fingers, has poor ergonomics. That is what kept it from getting a 5 star rating in my book. But it is the only mug I found to meet all 3 of my aforementioned requirements.
One more noteworthy quality about this mug, the lid attaches by a compression ring, which does not leak and can be positioned anywhere, so you can drink with right or left hand.
Overall I'm very happy with the purchase and would buy it again.

Well, almost three years after my original review I'm adding this comment. This cup has truly stood the test of time. Only now am I buying a replacement for my original mug which got very heavy use every day. Its a great value considering the quality. Honestly, this cup was never sold for $5 as one of the other reviewers stated. Please, this mug is insulated by a real vacuum (not some cardboard filler) and it wouldn't have sold at that low a price. Great mug that deserves more stars than I originally gave it.

Nice design to this mug. Most other mugs are so gimmicky, but this one is nice and simple. That makes it easy to clean. The wide rim is perfect for a tea drinker like me who wants to get the full aroma steamed into my face.
I could care less for the plastic lids that are always designed for these kinds of mugs, because I can't stand drinking through plastic. But all vacuum mugs seem to have this flaw. This particular mug is still the best.

Compared to the junk at Walgreens or your local coffee house, these are 1) Cheap.(SEE BELOW) 2) Well made. 3 Reasonable size.
They may not fit in your car cup holder, but who wants to drink while driving? (The German's don't - that's why they didn't used to put cup holders in your Benz) REVISED REVIEW:
When I bought these in July, 2005, they were $5.00. NOW, they are $20.00. That's 400% in four months. Even an oil executive wouldn't dare trying that. DON'T BUY THIS. It's nice, but someone is cheating you. Five stars was the original review. The new rating should be: (1)!!!!!!!
